Home is where the work is for Hallmark Builders Inc.
On the Birmingham Business Journal's list of the largest contractors in the area, Hallmark Builders Inc. was one of only two companies that had 100 percent local revenue.
There wasn't much need for Hallmark to venture outside the Birmingham area. The
contractor has enough work locally to increase its revenue in 2007 by 42.3
percent, from approximately $14.2 million to $20.2 million.
One of the biggest projects Hallmark picked up in 2007 was construction of Mount
Royal Gardens, a $7.5 million specialty assisted-living facility located in Liberty
Park.
Hallmark Builders also made plans in 2007 to build itself a new headquarters along
Cahaba River Road.
Hallmark officials said the new location would be twice as large as its Colonnade
headquarters (from approximately 3,000 to 6,000 square feet), and would
be more centrally located in the greater Birmingham area.
"This is the center of Birmingham for us with our workload," Hallmark Builders president and
CEO Mark Hallmark told the Birmingham Business Journal last year.
